Yunomi Pair — Master Katsumasa Miyagi, Tsuboya-yaki, Okinawa

799,00 zł (≈ €183)

Katsumasa Miyagi (宮城勝臣, 1934–2006) was one of Okinawa's most distinguished potters. In 1987, he was officially honored by the Japanese government with the title of Gendai no Meiko (現代の名工), the country's highest distinction awarded to craftsmen for exceptional technical mastery. Since his death in 2006, the number of authentic works has been completely exhausted, and their collectible value has steadily increased.

Description

Two Yunomi bowls, hand-thrown from regional Okinawan clay in the Tsuboya-yaki tradition—the raw, grooved, unglazed base contrasts with the thick, milky glaze with soft blue-gray and sea-green undertones. The set in 100% comes in an original Tomobako wooden collector's box with the artist's handwritten signature and red seal, an original Miyagi Pottery (宮城陶房) leaflet, and a signed studio stamp on the bottom of each bowl. The porcelain is in perfect condition—the box displays the natural patina of long-term storage.
