Shigaraki-yaki (信楽焼) from Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture, is one of the six ancient Japanese ceramic traditions, known for its coarse-grained, sandy stoneware with white feldspar particles and a warm orange "fire color" (火色) produced during firing. The exterior features a distinctive brush-painted motif with dark iron pigment, and an unglazed base with spiral turning marks on the underside.
